The classic creme brulee is so yummy and quite easy to make, it just takes a bit of prep work. The ingredients are simply enough. And no matter what people tell you, everything is better with a torch!

My boyfriend is bilingual so he has a fascination with all things French. I saw a deal voucher for Le Petit Dejeuner and had to buy it.
It’s a quaint little restaurant with a big window in the front but dim lighting in general. The atmosphere is a little confusing because the bar at the front is very posh but the tables and chairs remind me of a diner. To be honest, it didn’t feel very “French”.
You can order from their regular menu or have a three-course dinner for a set price. The dishes for the dinner change everyday so it’s a nice little surprise.
I had the Garden Salad with Sliced Apples. They used green apples which gave it a mildly sour taste that went well with the vinagrette. The baked pita-like cracker was the crouton to this garden salad. I don’t think it would’ve been the same without it.
The Tomato Bisque Soup was the other appetizer option and while it was smooth and had a pleasant taste, it didn’t satisy like the salad did.
Oh the Maple Glazed Ribs with Twice-Baked Potato; I wish I had some right now. I like my ribs sweet rather than smokey so eating this was like heaven in my mouth. Beans are also one of my favourite vegetables and the cheese on the potato just made it perfect.
The Potato Crusted Tilapia was soft and boneless but when you compare it to my ribs, the portions just aren’t equal. But I find that with any dish that’s seafood. Because it costs so much more, you will get less; unless you pay more.
They’re known for their waffles but I didn’t know this until after my visit here. My Belgium Waffles with Apple Crumble still amazed me though because it had a unique texture. It wasn’t soft and starchy like a cake but hard and crunchy like a soft cracker.
I will definitely be back here because I loved the food. Our server was also super helpful, especially when I asked her to repeat the menu.
