Clafouti is the first stop on my Toronto patisserie tour! I plan on going to as many patisseries (French bakeries) as I can because french pastries are just the best! (Italian are a close second)
The shop sits across from a spacious park so it’s great to sit outside when the weather is warm. Other than that, there really isn’t much room inside and could get crowded fast.
The Cappuccino comes in a huge cup and has a strong, smooth taste. Because of the size, it’ll either last you a long time or would be great for sharing.
I had their Fruit Tarte because of all the beautiful fruits and dollop of custard (I love custard!). The fruits are so fresh and the pastry is soft and so well kept together. Even through it was kept behind a refrigerated display, it was fresh and wasn’t stale at all!
I had no idea what a Pithivier was until I stole most of my boyfriend’s. It’s a flaky pastry with a layer of custard and icing sugar sprinkled on top. It’s nothing too fancy but sometimes, it’s these that taste the best!
It’s a small shop but worth a stop! I know Nadege is down the street but you have to support the little guys too!
