I’ve been to this restaurant once before and it was a great experience then so I thought it would be great coming here again. The decor is the same; it has a french bistro feel to it and while the crowd seems to be mostly business men and women, anyone can come in and dine. The prices of their signature egg platters have creative names and go for about $10-$14 depending on what you get.
Not in the mood for breakfast? Don’t worry! They have sandwiches, salads, pasta and even burgers. Although I’m not sure about the non-breakfast related dishes, but breakfast platters come with a complimentary bread basket with spreads.
I ended up getting the Eggstravaganza (french toast, sausage, eggs, grilled potatoes, fruit) with scrambled eggs while the two accompanying me ordered the Sugar Shack (eggs, grilled potatoes, baked beans, crepes, fruit and maple syrup) and the Asparagus and Swiss Cheese Omelette (three eggs, grilled potatoes, fruit).
I hope you’re not someone who cares about presentation because although most of it seemed fine, the eggs were an eyesore, despite the name of the establishment. I had scrambled eggs and I made them better when I was 13. They look like the eggs sat there too long and the person ended up chopping it with the spatula. They were tasteless and flat, not fluffy at all. That was the only big concern but the place is called Eggspectation, you would think they could make decent eggs.
But the service however, was phenomenal! Our server was the same one I had the first time I came and she was all sunshine and rainbows; without over doing it of course. She made sure we had everything we needed and always had a smile on her face. I;m assuming her area is the back corner upstairs so if you sit there, you might get her.
I don’t think I’ll be going back for awhile because those eggs ruined the trip for me. Until they train their cook or get a new one, I’ll have my brunches at places that know how to cook good scrambled eggs.
